Brooke's Recap

Here is a photo of Mike and me at a Notre Dame Football Game

Well I guess I better add a little more to my bio. As you all know Mike and I married in December of 98 and then finished up a year and a 1/2 later from Snow College. We moved up to SLC and Mike attended the U of U. I started working at a dental office and within a few short months I was promoted to Office Manager. Mike decided to go to Medical School so we started the long application process. During that time we finally became pregnant and had a little boy, Carson, in October of
2003. I stopped working at the office and Mike was accepted to the U of U Medical school for fall of 2003. We had one more little boy 19 months after Carson named Connor. Mike graduated from Med School this past Spring and has decided to do Family Medicine and we are here in South Bend, IN for three years and having a great time. I stay home with the boys and right now am Nursery Leader for about 15 little ones. Mike and I just celebrated out nine year anniversary and are very happy with our two crazy boys.
Good to hear from everyone.

Amber News

Since everyone is giving an update from the past 9 years I guess I will add mine! After Snow I went to BYU Jerusalem and then decided to put in my mission papers. I went to Donetsk Ukraine and spoke Russian. When I got home I started dating Tim Freiss (his brother is married to my older sister Melinda) and we got married a year after I had been home. I worked for my brother's mortgage company for a few years and then worked for an advertising company as their marketing director. In the fall of 2005 my husband got diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia (a blood disorder) and had to have a bone marrow transplant. He was in the hospital for almost 2 months and thankfully the transplant went well (his brother was his donor) and he is fully recovered now. We had our first little baby (Kate) the end of December 2007 and she is our little miracle. I am now enjoying home life and have quit working. Tim is a developer/hunting guide and we live in Herriman UT. So that is the past few years of my life in a nut shell. I'll try and post more photos soon. It's great to hear from all of you!!

Ok, well...after Snow I moved to San Diego, lived with a girlfriend from junior high and worked for a hardware and lighting company doing accounting stuff. Met a really cool group of friends including Adam. We were married in Las Vegas on the 6th of July and moved to Laie, Hawaii a month later. We lived there for 3 years while Adam went to school/surfed/golfed and I worked at a dental office/got a tan. Adam graduated in June 2004 and we moved back to San Diego for about a year. Adam's new job took us to Portland, Oregon for 9 months. Unfortunately for us 7 of those 9 months it rained. But we made some good friends which gives us an excuse to go back in the summer when it is nice. In March of 2006 we moved to Boise, Idaho, pretty much sight unseen which was scary but we really love it. We bought a house and got a dog and settled in. We love the four seasons, because none of them are extreme. There are mountains to play in during the winter and lakes for the summer. The downtown is really cool, and getting more and more cool shops and restaurants (I hear Whole Foods and Nordstrom are on their way). I have been working for a real estate company that represents new construction communities. It was crazy in a lot of ways, mainly my boss who made business decisions based on star/planet alignment. I 'retired' the end of December. On January 10th, we adopted our first kid, a little girl. It was a crazy experience, we have a pretty open relationship with our birth mother and we were able to be at the hospital when she was born. She came home with us the 11th and has been wonderful since. Her name is Madeleine and will legally be our baby girl in about 4 1/2 months. That's pretty much it.

All about Me

After reading about everyone else i realized i better give the low down of past few years of me.
After Snow I went to SUU one semester before leaving on my mission to Belgium and France. When i got back i went to BYU. It was so big and different from Snow that i freaked out the first while, until i got into my major classes and they were small. Only about 15 of us going through at the same time. I studied Art Education and got my degree in Kindergarten through 12 grade. I met Budd 6 months after i had been home and we got married 6 months later. We had one more year left at BYU and i graduated in 2003. IN Aug of 2003 we moved to Ogden Ut to start a business called Island Ink-Jet, where we refill printer cartridges. It is still going today, barely getting by and we have now gotten out of the franchise and are called Quick Ink. I sustitute taught art and French when we first came to Ogden, and was pregnant with Brinlee. She was born April 2004. Budd has done other jobs on the side, and Mortgages the past couple years. We moved to Clearfield and bought a condo, had Spencer Jan 2006, and then moved into a house in Layton 6 months ago. I have been working 2 days teaching art at an elementary school the past 3 years, and have now opened a small art school in my basement where i teach kids after school. I love it !
There are all the crazies about me.
We really need to plan a Big Mag 4 get together. I would love to see you all.
Kate

Me and the kids at the Polar Bear Plunge in Seward

Mike and the kids and the snowman!

Wow, I have wondered about all you girls so many times over the years. Years? That's crazy. I even googled Sarah once, and found out that she ran a half marathon, then I was like sheesh, I can find out all this crazy stuff but not an address, so no more googling people. Anyway here goes my little biography: After Mike and I got married, we lived in Ephraim for a year and then headed south to Cedar City were mike finished undergrad, and I tried to figure out motherhood. Then we left for dental school in Louisville Kentucky. We loved Kentucky the most beautiful springs ever there. Mike joined the army to help pay for tuition, which at the time seemed so exotic and adventurous, now we are just hoping to make it through our remaining 3 years of payback without a deployment to Iraq! After dental school we moved to Oklahoma for a residency for one year, then on to Alaska this past summer. We will be here until Mike is finished with his service. We have four kids!! Quinton is 7 and in 2nd grade. Austin is 5 years old and in a preschool program on base. Avery our only girl is a mini version of me, except she is coordinated. She is 3. Jace was born in June, about one month before we moved. He just got his 6 months shots today, poor kid. We drove up here, a 10 day trip, but it was so fun and worth every minute. There was tons to see and do along the way.

Everything You'd Ever Want to Know (Ever)

So, I've noticed this lovely idea of a blog is a little slow in getting started. It's a good idea, I think, it's just that we are all so busy and probably also have other blogs we're posting on. Anyway, I just thought I'd make a post that is all you could ever want to know about me since I left Snow College since that is really what I want to know about all of you. So, here goes:
I married Josh Harber July 16, 1999 in Las Vegas. We lived in Las Vegas for the next 7 years while Josh worked for his uncle's construction company. We had Jacob in May 2000, Anna in February 2002, Maggie in March 2004 and Will in April 2006. We started out living in an apartment and then bought our first little home. We lived there for 2 years and then began building our dream home. We lived in the dream home for less than a year before moving to Pinedale, Wyoming. Pinedale is about 70 miles southeast of Jackson Hole. It is very beautiful here and it's the small little town in Wyoming that I always dreamed of raising my family in. Josh started his own construction company here and loves being his own boss although there are definitely downfalls to being self-employed. My brother, Nate and his family live here too and is one of Pinedale's dentists. The town is pretty small-about 2500 people maybe. One elementary school, middle school, high school. One grocery store. The nearest Target is 4 hours away!!! I've become very adept at online shopping. The winters are pretty cold with temperatures going below zero pretty frequently. I still love running and organizing and of course, being a mom. I'm loving hearing about all you guys and still count my days at Snow as some of the funnest of my life. So, there you go. Tag. You're all it.
